Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit
Effective January 1, 2009, taxpayers affected by the Alternative Minimum Tax
(AMT) became eligible for the full Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit (30B).
Currently three Mercedes-Benz Blue TEC vehicles qualify for the 30B credit:

ML320 Blue TEC ($900)

R320 Blue TEC ($1,500)
-
GL320 Blue TEC ($1,800)
Therefore, if you buy one of these vehicles in 2009, the government will
subsidize the purchase through the credit regardless of income level. This
credit is in addition to any current special retail offerings, making a Blue TEC
vehicle even more attractive than before.
You should consult with your tax counsel regarding the tax ramifications of
this change.
2010 S400 Hybrid Qualifies for $1,150
Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 S400 HYBRID meets the requirements
of the Federal Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit Program as a qualified
hybrid motor vehicle. As a result, all purchase customers, regardless of their
personal income and tax situation, qualify for the $1,150 tax credit. Please
note, the tax credit is retro-active for all past purchases of the 2010 S400
HYBRID.
The following are a few key points regarding the Tax credit:

The 2010 S400 HYBRID must be purchased.
Leased vehicles do not qualify for the credit.

Credit is not realized at retail purchase, but
must be applied for individually by the customer, and claimed on their
Income Tax Return. Each respective customer should contact their individual
tax advisor for more details.

Toyota/Lexus reached their maximum number of
hybrids in October 2007. Therefore, the purchase of a Lexus hybrid is no
longer eligible for the above mentioned tax credit
